Topic: Molecular “Fingerprint” of human focal epilepsies

Principle investigator: Ms. A. Peters, MD, J. Romstöck, MD, I. Blümcke, MD

In cooperation with the working groups at the Erlangen Epilepsy Center (ZEE) we focus on molecular pathogenesis and epileptogenesis of human focal epilepsies. Using Affymetrix-gene chip analysis, expression patterns within the epileptogenic neocortex will be compared with that of adjacent non-epileptogenic tissues.
